REACQUISITION / RETENTION OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP

Eligibility

  1. Natural-born citizens of the Philippines who have lost their Philippine citizenship by reason of naturalization in a foreign country are eligible to apply for reacquisition or retention of Philippine citizenship;
  2. The applicant must be able to prove their natural-born Philippine citizenship (i.e., citizenship by birth), which may be established by a birth certificate or other legal documents;
  3. The applicant has not renounced Philippine citizenship.


Requirements

  1. Duly accomplished petition for reacquisition or retention of Philippine citizenship
  2. Original Philippine and foreign passports
  3. Original Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – issued Birth Certificate with Apostille as proof of natural-born Philippine citizenship. For applicants born outside the Philippines, copy of the Report of Birth (ROB)
  4. Original Naturalization certificate with Apostille from the foreign country
  5. Marriage certificate with Apostille (if applicable, to prove relationship status).
