REACQUISITION / RETENTION OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP
Eligibility
- Natural-born citizens of the Philippines who have lost their Philippine citizenship by reason of naturalization in a foreign country are eligible to apply for reacquisition or retention of Philippine citizenship;
- The applicant must be able to prove their natural-born Philippine citizenship (i.e., citizenship by birth), which may be established by a birth certificate or other legal documents;
- The applicant has not renounced Philippine citizenship.
Requirements
- Duly accomplished petition for reacquisition or retention of Philippine citizenship
- Original Philippine and foreign passports
- Original Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) – issued Birth Certificate with Apostille as proof of natural-born Philippine citizenship. For applicants born outside the Philippines, copy of the Report of Birth (ROB)
- Original Naturalization certificate with Apostille from the foreign country
- Marriage certificate with Apostille (if applicable, to prove relationship status).
