In commemoration of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) 2026, the Philippine Embassy in Colombia kicked off the celebration with a flag-raising ceremony on Monday, 7 September 2026. Ambassador Adrian Bernie Candolada delivered the message of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the occasion, while the video message by Secretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro was played during the program.

 

The Embassy has lined up a series of events as part of its celebration, including a lecture series on international maritime law in partnership with the University of the Philippines College of Law and the UP Law Center’s Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea. Lectures will be held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, Universidad ICESI in Cali, and Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá.
